Christmas

The big hit of the day was Sid's new tricycle. It was a gift from his Grandma and Grandpa Saladino. He LOVES it!!! His feet don't quite reach the pedals, but he sits on it and pushes it all around the house. I can't wait to see him out in the yard with his trike this summer.

The look on his face in this picture is so cute. He looks worried or confused.

He wasn't too much into unwrapping presents, which is too bad, because he got a ton of them! I guess I should be happy he wasn't so much into eating the wrapping paper like he was last year. I snapped a few photos of him opening gifts.

Back on the trike with some assistance from "Dada".

Most of you know that Sid loves Shrek. He got a bunch of Shrek figures for Christmas, a pair of Shrek jammies, a Shrek bath set and a talking Donkey doll. Some of his gifts were even wrapped in Shrek paper! He loved it all.

Looking handsome and probably laughing at something stupid Michael or I is doing.

After dinner and a bath, it was time to get back on the trike in his new Batman jammies. How freaking cute are these!?

Grandma Stokes helped him manuever around the kitchen.

I think he's receiving a "Secret Bat Mission" in this picture AND it shows off his cape.

One more happy ride around the kitchen...

Can you tell he loves his trike?

I hope you all had a great Christmas. I know we did!

We are looking forward to next Christmas already....in Colorado!!!

Christmas Eve 12.24.07

We had a great Christmas Eve. We had dinner at my mom's house. Brandy, Justin, Mallory, Savannah and Keihin were there too. Again, I didn't get too many good photos. I think it's time for a new digital camera! Anyway, here are a few that turned out.

We tried to get a nice picture of Sid and I however, the one photo where we are both looking at the camera is blurry! This is me trying to comfort him. I'm not sure why he got all clingy when we got there. He looked so handsome, so it bums me out that we didn't get any good pictures of him looking all big boy and stuff.

My mom's house was gorgeous and it was truly a Christmas wonderland. Again, we should have taken more photos, because this one does NOT do it justice, but it will give you an idea of how seriouly they take decorating for Christmas.

Sid LOVES playing with his cousins. Savannah was encouraging him to attack.

And here he is clamoring through the Stokes crowd. I just realized we have no pictures of Michael from this night.

Kylie's Birthday Party 12.21.07

We went to Kylie's birthday party last Friday and I thought I would share a few pictures. Most of them didn't turn out too well for one reason or another. Here is the birthday girl minus a tooth.

Michael asked McKenna how it felt for it not to be her birthday. She didn't seem to mind.

A rare picture of Sid and I together.

Kylie got a Hannah Montana doll for Christmas. It sings a few lines of one of her songs and Sid was enjoying dancing with Kylie and her best friend Piper. Until I got the camera out that is. Here is kind of bopping to the music and having some bottle at the same time.

Here he is modeling his Jester Hat that Grandma Stokes got him for Christmas.

Trip to the Park 12.16.07

I'm hoping you all know who is writing each post without me telling you. :) Sid is napping right now (FINALLY), so I have some time to update this. We went to Timber Linn Park a couple of weeks ago, so that Sid could see some ducks and play on the play structure. We had intended on going to Storybook Land again to get some pics and let Sid see the trains, but they were closed.

Sid looked really handsome sitting in his car seat.

Getting ready to go down the slide...

This is a picture I took of the trees. I thought it was pretty. It was a cool day, but the playground was dry and we missed the rain by seconds. Literally!

Here is on the way home, tired, but happy.

Zoo Lights 12.14.07

So, one Saturday we decided to head up to the Portland Zoo for the annual Zoo Lights event. We went last year and had a great time, so we have added it as one of our yearly Christmas traditions.

When we arrived at the Zoo, it was nearly empty, because Zoo Lights had not started yet. We were able to let Sid walk around, which he enjoyed. He did not enjoy stopping for this picture...

One of his favorite exhibits was the ducks! You can't see them in this picture, but that is what he is looking at. It cracked me up that out of all the animals at the zoo, he loves the ducks, which we can see any day of the week.

Zoo Lights turned into a disaster at this point, with much screaming and fit throwing by our dear Sidney. We got on the train and he sat quietly through the ride. Here is a pic Michael's friend took of us. It sucks Sid's face got cut off, but it was dark on the train, so Chris couldn't really see what he was taking a picture of, so I have to use it.

After getting off the train, Sid wanted to walk, but it was really crowded by this time, so I wouldn't let him. He freaked. He must have screamed and cried for a good half hour straight. Once we gave up, left the zoo and got to the car, he was a perfect angel. This shot was taken on our way out.

This gives you an idea of the lights, but they do a lot more stuff than just hang them like that. They have moving animals made out of lights and so many of them. It's really gorgeous. We're hoping that by next Christmas we'll forget the unpleasant memories of this year's Zoo Lights trip and make the trip again.

It's Almost Christmas

Christmas is coming! I love all the lights and decorations. Mom and Dad drove me around town the other night to see the lights and I oohed and aahed and pointed out the window. They also took me to Storybook Land and I LOVED the trains. They were so cool. I ran from here to there screaming with joy and excitement. Unfortunately we have no pictures of those events. However I do have some random photos to share.

Here's me after I refused to take a nap all day and then passed out on my dad. (12.2.07)

I am a bit of a computer genius. Here's me on Dad's Mac. (12.8.07)

I took a moment to pose for you.

I like to make funny faces in the pendulum of our clock.

Our Christmas tree. Mom toddler-proofed the tree by not using anything glass, so of course, I have not been interested in it this year.

Thought I'd look in this box and see if there was a Christmas present in there for me, but there wasn't.

Here I am pretending to be Hook. Mom said he's from the movie Peter Pan, but I only know him from Shrek. (12.10.07)

Mom wanted you all to see this picture. She says I look like such a big boy in it with all my hair and everything. I guess I'm growing up. (12.11.07)

Here's me just today. Mom took me to get my 2nd flu shot looking like this. I woke up from my nap with my hair sticking up all over. (12.13.07)

And finally, here's me drawing.

*****************
Mom here: When I took Sid in for his shot, we measured his height. I can't remember what it was exactly but he's 35 something inches tall. I didn't have him weighed, because he was pretty pissed off after the shot and being measured. About a month ago when Michael took him in he was 33lbs 9oz. I can't believe my little baby is that big!

Tomorrow we are taking Sid to Zoolights. Hopefully we don't freeze to death. It's been so cold here. Sid is really loving all the holiday stuff, so I think he'll get a kick out of Zoolights. There is a train to ride on, which I think he'll love.

Sid has turned into quite the little love. He gives kisses now and sometimes even keeps his mouth shut when he does it. He's very affectionate.

Look for an update soon.
